Free Boat Plans

In this section I will write reviews on books related to boats and boatbuilding. Of course this is just my opinion. You will also found links to those books if you are interested (click on the image).

Another great book. If you own an old sailboat that needs some TLC or you are planning to buy and restore one, you need this book. Don Casey covers everything, starting on selecting the right boat for you. The book also covers electrical system, engines, plumbing, etc. A great guide for restoring an old boat.

This is the first book I want to talk about and recommend. This was not the first book I bought trying to understand hull design, but it was the first one that gave me a clear idea on the topic. Easy to read, will give you a clear understanding on hull design. Some of the topics covered are: Hull shapes, drawing lines, sailboat riggings, seaworthiness. This is a good place to start if you think someone is making you an indecent proposal when they start talking about their boomkin.
